Well today started off like any other day.. Except when i got to the office we left to climb or (Bus and Cable Car) up Mt. Tai. No problem armed with my map with Chinese and English (handmade by Amber) i felt confident. Lets just review for a moment that i speak very little chinese!! ok...
I was able to get the tickets for the bus and entrance no problem.. 45 minute ride good deal. We hiked around the Middle Heaven Gate.. The weather was nice.. not to hot not to cold...
Then we go the tickets for the cable car... oh my only 15 minutes so it said.. it was so windy.. scary times!!!!
When we arrived at the top it was so cloudy we could see nothing.. maybe 5 feet ahead of us.. I did manage to call mom and dad! Then we took off in search of this 3 star resturant .. i had no clue. But i was chill.. i was enjoying the walk.. i couldn't breathe do to insence being burned.. but it was ok... Then it happend.....
I had to ask for directions.. Amber had told me how to say the name of the resturant and I had it written in Chinese in case.. All i knew was i was tired and wanted to rest.. i went to the closest window at the top where there were not alot of people.. So i arrive that the window.. all it said above was booking... and i look in and OH MY! there is a samari looking guy. A monk... with not a happy face.. Two thoughts ran through my mind.. RUN.. or just ask... So i just asked.. I said in my best chinese the name of the place and where? he looked at me like i was crazy. i put the paper there for him to see and again said where.. he like scowled... and pointed... i could just see him thinking.. dumb foriegner.. off with her head!!! I couldn't follow his pointing with no words...
We eventually found it no problem.. I would like to say the trip back was easier.. NO! The guy scowled at me as i walked back by.. Then the cable car we were in had 3 children.. they were standing and jumping... :/ That was scary. The bus was no problem.. So for our 5 hour trip we learned many things..
1. have a map
2. don't ask the temple monk questions
3. Dont' get in the cable car with children
